I am now about giving a little description
Father & Mother I now am about to write you
Mother, I seat myself once more to pen a few lines
Home, Tomorrow we leave
Greenland December 11, 1862
Dec. 11 we went into the woods and cut timber
Mother & Father, I have just got back from G. Gap
Home; Well I have not much news to write
Home; I received a letter from you stating
Home; I have looked for a letter all the last week
Home, Well I take the first oppertunity to write you
Mother, I take the present oppertunity to write a few lines
sister Emma As I have a little more money
Home, Well I once more seat myself to write
Home; I now take my pen in hand and seat myself
All hands at home, well here we are right in the face of the enemy
Home, Well hear we are expecting
Home Well I have not had any letters
Sister Emma I thought I would write a few lines
Home Yesterday morning we received the news
Well hear we are after a march of 7 miles
Sister Emma; It is with pleasure I seat myself to answer your short letter
Hear we are after a march of 16 miles
Home Well I resume my pen once more
Mother I take my pen once more to write a few lines to you
Mother I take my pencil to write a few words
Mother, I take the present oppertunity to write a few lines
Mother I seat myself to day to answer your kinde favor
