Subject:
St. Lawrence University -- Buildings
St. Lawrence University -- History
Description:
Between 1896 and 1925, the site of the future Chapel was home to SLU’s first gymnasium…a drafty old barn that many felt was completely inadequate even by early 20th century standards. One night in May of 1925, the “Wooden Gym” met its demise in spectacular fashion. The cause was never determined.
