Description:
Gunnison Memorial Chapel was named to honor the 8th President in St. Lawrence’s history, Dr. Almon Gunnison. An ordained minister in the Universalist Church, Dr. Gunnison’s tenure lasted 15 years from 1899-1914 and resulted in several major building projects, increased enrollment and course offerings and, for the first time, a healthy endowment fund. The President Emeritus died in 1917.
