Independent Study: Oral History Project Nyanza Province, Spring 1998

Interviewing Bishop Owuor of the Mercy and Holy Ghost Church, Nyanza Province, April-May 1998. A joint IDS placement, two students were assigned to document the oral history of the Mercy and Holy Ghost church by the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC). The IDS consisted of three weeks of travel and interviews with church leaders and parishioners of the Luo community and was based at the church headquarters in Lela. The final paper was subsequently reproduced by the OAIC and distributed back to the different parishes in western Kenya.
