Description:
The 1960s saw an unprecedented construction boom on campus. Griffiths Arts Center and the E. J. Noble University Center (lower right center were completed in the early 60s and Vilas Hall (right) in 1965. Jenks and Hulett dorms (center foreground) were built in the mid 50s and more dorm space followed in the 60s with Whitman Hall (center) and Rebert (center left, among the barracks buildings). The "new" science area on campus included Brown and Valentine Halls (left). Under construction in this photo next to Valentine Hall is Bewkes Science Hall, completed in 1968.
