My dear Bigelow: -
Your note at hand - I am just leaving for a little canoe cruise in the woods for two weeks.
It is all right what you have reported to your government and of course you have warts opening gun. My advice is that you use the incident up to a certain point but to over do the thing will serve simply to make us notorious without any particular compensation.
As for me I know so little about what happened in your official relations in Russia that I can say nothing. You can speak for both of us and one cook is better than two. When people ask me about the thing I say “its copyrighted.” - You must anticipate that Warts will try and put you in a hole.
Sorry you came so near being drown - you are a reckless man who will very likely be drowned sooner or later and you may be hanged - it s no sure thing either way.
Am only now beginning to feel good - I got all out of fix - too much work and too little play -
Glad to see you when you “strike the beach” here. America is much maligned and I “tie right up to her, shes too good for me.” I don’t want quite such a fine country as this to live in.-
Yours
