Description:
Only two of the Chapel's current stained glass windows are original to the building. The rest, including this one (which is truly unique in that it depicts a number of sports played at SLU), were installed between 1972 and 1982 by alumni and friends of the University.

Description:
After a suspicious fire destroyed the "old wooden" gymnasium on campus construction quickly began on a stately Gothic-style chapel on the site of the old gym. Construction of Gunnison Memorial Chapel, named in honor of Almon Gunnison, President of the University from 1899 to 1914, was begun in 1925.

Gunnison Memorial Chapel
Shortly after the destruction of the "old gym" in 1925, ground was broken on an architectural icon of the University. Named for Dr. Almon Gunnison, President of St. Lawrence from 1899-1914, the chapel was completed in 1926. Most of it's famous stained glass windows were installed in the 1970s and 80s.
